This time, I sought to implement \u00a0<strong>TAIT<sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong>\u00a0branded transceivers\u00a0also used by professionals. The <strong>TM8100<\/strong> series (TM8105, TM8110, TM8115&#8230;) works with MMDVM in both ways, in reception and transmission.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to this tutorial, you are invited to realize the settings of your Tait<strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong> transceivers. In my case, I use TM8110 UHF 10 channels. Let&#8217;s see this in a few steps.<\/p>\n<h3>Connection<\/h3>\n<p>First of all the rear socket of the station is a female DB15 socket. We will exploit these 5 pins which will be connected on the filtering MMDVM shield (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.f5uii.net\/platine-mmdvm-pour-arduino-due\/\">Arduino Due<\/a> ou <a href=\"https:\/\/www.f5uii.net\/mmdvm-nucleo-stm32-pcb-shield\/\">STM32<\/a>):<a href=\"https:\/\/www.f5uii.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Tait-TM8100-Rear-connector.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-1856 alignright\" src=\"https:\/\/www.f5uii.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Tait-TM8100-Rear-connector.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"200\" height=\"103\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>6 RSSI (optionnal for\u00a0RX way)<\/li>\n<li>7 Audio Input (TX way)<\/li>\n<li>12 PTT* (TX way)<\/li>\n<li>13 Audio Output (RX way)<\/li>\n<li>15\u00a0Ground<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The PTT pin\u00a0will be configured as alternate output with the Tait programming application.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_1850-2\" style=\"width: 790px\" class=\"wp-caption alignnone\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-1850-2\" class=\"wp-image-1850 size-large\" src=\"https:\/\/www.f5uii.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/img_590f2b8a166a8-1024x973.png\" alt=\"\" width=\"780\" height=\"741\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.f5uii.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/img_590f2b8a166a8-1024x973.png 1024w, https:\/\/www.f5uii.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/img_590f2b8a166a8-300x285.png 300w, https:\/\/www.f5uii.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/img_590f2b8a166a8-768x730.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 780px) 100vw, 780px\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-1850-2\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">TAIT TM8100 rear connector<\/p><\/div>\n<h3>Tait<strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong> Transceiver Settings<\/h3>\n<p>The configuration of the two transceivers\u00a0(transmitter and receiver of the MMDVM repeater) can be\u00a0the same programming.<\/p>\n<h4>Receiving\/transmining channel<\/h4>\n<p>Using the Tait<strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong> programming application, we define a channel corresponding to the frequencies of the repeater\u00a0(Channel Configuration menu). We will realize the MMDVM setting using the MMDVMCal software. This part is developed more precisely\u00a0in my article\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.f5uii.net\/installation-calibration-adjustment-tunning-mmdvm-mmdvmhost-raspberry-motorola-gm360\/\">Install MMDVMHost on Raspberry Pi and tuning MMDVM for DMR digital mode<\/a><\/p>\n<div class=\"Infinitive\">\n<p>For the adjustment of the DMR emission, the potentiometer must be set to a high limit stop and thus passing so that the entire LF signal is transmitted to the transmitter without loss.<\/p>\n<p>Run\u00a0MMDVMCal<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:sh decode:true \">sudo \/opt\/MMDCal\/MMDVMCal \/dev\/ttyACM0<\/pre>\n<p>Go to DMR deviation mode, by pressing D key (D uppercase).<\/p>\n<p>Transmit (space bar) and control the transmisting\u00a0spectrum. In my case, I use an SDR key to display the dynamic spectrum. Decrease the modulation amplitude until the central line disappears. I expect in my case 29%.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.f5uii.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Tuning-DMR-MMDVM-TAIT-TM8100.gif\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-1849\" src=\"https:\/\/www.f5uii.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/05\/Tuning-DMR-MMDVM-TAIT-TM8100.gif\" alt=\"\" width=\"953\" height=\"233\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Exit the software with the Q key<\/p>\n<h2>Setting\u00a0MMDVM.ini<\/h2>\n<p>It remains for us to configure the file MMDVM.ini<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:sh decode:true\">sudo nano \/opt\/MMDVMHost\/MMDVM.ini<\/pre>\n<p>In the Modem section, we need to change these parameters for Tait<strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong> TM8100:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><em>TxInvert<\/em> and <em>RXInvert<\/em> are set to\u00a01<\/li>\n<li><em>DMRDelay<\/em> is fixed to 90<\/li>\n<li><em>TXLevel<\/em>\u00a0is set to 27 \u00a0(29% finded reduced by 5% &#8211; 29 x 0.95 \u2245 27 )<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<pre class=\"lang:default decode:true\" title=\"MMDVM.ini (extrait)\">[Modem]\r\nPort=\/dev\/ttyACM0\r\n#Port=\\\\.\\COM3\r\nTXInvert=1\r\nRXInvert=1\r\nPTTInvert=0\r\nTXDelay=100\r\nDMRDelay=90\r\nRXLevel=85\r\nTXLevel=27\r\n<\/pre>\n<\/div>\n<h3>Conclusion<\/h3>\n<p>We start MMDVMHost &#8230;<\/p>\n<pre class=\"lang:sh decode:true \"> sudo \/opt\/MMDVMHost\/MMDVMHost \/opt\/MMDVMHost\/MMDVM.ini<\/pre>\n<p>Here is your MMDVM repeater\u00a0ready to operate with TAIT<strong><sup>\u00ae<\/sup><\/strong> transceivers\u00a0of the TM8100 series.
